My name is Greg Walter. I am a basketball scout in Maryland and on the East Coast. My love for the game of basketball went to the next level after I injured my knee my senior year in high school. This showed me a different way to approach the game that I love. My playing career ended after high school, but it started a whole new passion. Although, I wish I could still play (like you I am sure) this is my new calling.
My path towards this new passion has been a little unorthodox. I am 25 years old, married to a beautiful woman and have two wonderful kids. I have had three knee surgeries in total and I feel extremely old! I do not possess a college degree, in large part to starting a family so young. However, that does not stop me from pursuing my passion even if it is at the expense of sleep.
Currently, I am a College and High School Basketball Scout with NetScouts Basketball, which is based in Oregon. I am one of the scouts for Maryland and the East Coast. http://netscoutsbasketball.com/
I am also the Director of Scouting and Marketing Assistant for the DMV Warriors of the American Basketball Association. We are based out of Gwynn Oak, Maryland. 2016 – Expansion Team of the Year, Mid Atlantic Division Champions, Regional Champions and Final 4 appearance. 2017 – Chesapeake Division Champions, Regional Champions and Final 4 appearance. http://www.dmvwarriors.net/home
I feel as if I am an old man. Married with kids, and an old mans body. Thus the name….. The Young Veteran.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
16 – Rejoice evermore. 17 – Pray without ceasing. 18 – In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
